Coming in for a landing and restoration: new photos
The Golden Hawk which has flown over Germain Park for decades came down this morning. The Royal Canadian Wing 403 is restoring the vintage aircraft and had to remove it from its perch. It took two tries as the chain broke the first attempt. The wings will be taken off the plane and then the pieces will be moved to sheds in the region to be restored by hand. Officials hope it can return to Germain Park in time for Sarnia’s Centennial year in 2014. The 403 Wing plans an vintage air show to celebrate its restoration.
