PHOTOS: Super Moon visible Friday and Saturday

Your eye’s aren’t deceiving you; the moon is bigger in the sky than normal.

Friday and Saturday marks an event called Super Moon. This is one of four to six times this year that the moon comes closer to the earth making it seem much larger in the sky. Right now, it is orbiting about 27,000 kilometers closer to earth.

The moon will be even larger June 23 when it will be at its closest point to the earth in 2013.
